Introducing, the disposable car!

Posted: 02 May 2013 09:16 AM PDT

The “carDboard” concept vehicle is a militantly minimal coupe with no door, no dashboard, no hard roof, & it only comes in one color (so you’d better like brown!). The chassis & body are composed of entirely of recycled cardboard & plastic, making it extremely lightweight & efficient with its small tri-hybrid gas/compressed-air/electric engine. Its projected top speed would reach somewhere around 70MPH, but it’s better suited for just a quick zip around town. Just try to avoid rain & puddles!

Light Direction In Floods

Posted: 02 May 2013 07:21 AM PDT

The Safety Light is a lighting system that kicks into action once the streets get flooded and are under water. As a thumb rule its safer not to use vehicles during this time, but these lights are meant for those folks who are simply stuck and need to move out of harm's way. The design combines LED, an H2O battery and traditional Cat Eyes Road Studs.

Rain water activates the H2O battery’s energy to light the LED light beams, creating a road guide that can lead car drivers safely through flooded areas, reducing accidents during heavy rainfall.

Custom Color Thread

Posted: 02 May 2013 05:51 AM PDT

I hate sewing but if you are the sorts who likes to mend their own clothes then the Line Printer is meant for you. This small device allows the color of sewing-machine thread to be customized to the color of the cloth being worked upon. You may not have the exact color and re-threading the machine is always a hassle; with the Line Printer you get to 'print' thread with color on demand.

A small built-in camera is used to photograph the fabric, and then color-picking software determines the ideal shade for the thread. Small CMKY ink cartridges are contained within Line Printer, and system is calibrated to print on white thread. Line Printer sits on the top of the sewing machine and the thread is fed through it directly off the spool.

Line Printer is a 2012 red dot award: design concept winner.

A Different Kind of Desk Lamp

Posted: 02 May 2013 12:01 AM PDT

The Ugol lamp is a simplistic desktop lighting solution with a very creative way of staying upright. Designed to hug any corner, it leverages the table itself as a means of support. Simply position it on any of the four points to direct light where you need it. Without sacrificing brightness, the minimal design’s small footprint leaves the user with more usable space to work.

Ultimate Foosball

Posted: 02 May 2013 12:01 AM PDT

The B99 brings some awesome hi-tech additions to the game of foosball which has gone surprisingly unchanged in design throughout it’s history. It wirelessly syncs with your smartphone to give you training, match statistics or even replays. As added bonus, it features a Bang and Olufsen sound system so you can stream your jock jams while you play! Whether you consider it just a table-top game or a full-fledged sport, it’s easy to appreciate this unique integration.
